Samhain

Golden sun on darkening leaves
Mist rolls across the fields
Empty and cold
Crows fly across the grey sky
Their call makes my heart sing

Summer is over
Winter may come
Youth has left
Cailleach will grow

Silver moon hangs in the sky
Stars behind clouds
Warm and comforting
Fire in the hearth
Flickering candles in the window

Harvest is over
Winter can come
Mother has left
Cailleach will grow

Licht

Aus der Tiefe bricht das Licht
In hellen Strahlen
Gibt dem Herzen wahre Sicht
Und dem Auge Klarheit

Vom Himmel strömt das Blau
Durchdringt die Sphäre
Grün, Silber, Weiss und Grau
Virbrieren im Meere

Aus der Seele strahlt ein Glanz
Voller Liebe und Wärme
Lädt den Kosmos ein zum Tanz
Vereint Himmel und Erde

Equinox

Darkness and light
Somber and bright
Sparkle in my eyes
All in good balance

Silence and sound
Notes all around
Fill my soul
All in good balance

Bitter and sweet
Red wine, golden mead
Melt on my tongue
All in good balance

Warm and cold
Rough iron, soft gold
Touch my skin
All in good balance

Jasmine and rose
Perfume and smoke
Tickle my nose
All in good balance

Hughie

Beady black eyes shining brightly
Agile, most ardent hunter of all
Dark digger of dens
Glossy gleaming three-coloured garment
Eloquent eternal guardian of earth
Roaming reaper of dark roots

Mist to Sun (a sonnet??)

Grey wips of mist cover the ground
The trees look sad, I hear no sound
Dew drops hang from all the branches
The grass is damp, mud fills the trenches

Soil clings to my boots and slows my speed
Bushes reach for my clothes, I do not heed
All noise is muffled by cotton wool clouds
The whole world around me is wrapped in a shroud

Then all starts to change, hardly noticable first
The sounds sound freer, to the surface they burst
The grass starts to glow green and bright around
The trees stand erect now, with gold they are crowned
The world shakes free from the quiet white blanket
As a ray of sunshine touches and transforms

Hyazinth

You grew slowly under my eyes
little flowers blooming so bright
perfume first timid
then intense spirit
uplifting
and divine

Vessel

Formed in clay
Hardened and baked
Cast in metal
Never to break
Cut in wood
Warm and smooth
Made from glass
Shining so cool
None of these though equal my soul
A vessel so fragile yet strong and bold
What does it contain?
Much suffering and pain
